Photography Day Camp

Cake Decorating Class

If you mastered the Level 1 Wilton Cake Decorating book then check out the Level 2 class starting soon. We're offering a Level 2 Cake Decorating Class focusing on making flowers, managing and mixing colors, and layer cakes. The class will be held at the Ada County Extension Office. By competing this project you will be qualified to show your project at the Western Idaho Fair during the 4-H events! Check out the Cake Decorating registration form for more information.

Summer Day Camps in Ada County

We have fun and educational activities for children ages 5 and up this summer! Our day camps are open to all youth, you don't have to be in 4-H to attend the day camps. There will be 3 different Lego robotics camps so there's something for everyone! Beginner Robotics: ages 5 to 7, July 5-7, $35 Junior Robotics: ages 8 to 12, July 18-21, $50 Sumo Bots: ages 9 to 14, August 1-4, $50 There will also be Photography class focusing on digital SLR cameras and learning how to manipulate digital media! Photography: ages 8 and up, July 11-14, $50 All classes will be held at the Ada County Extension Office. Please see the summer day camp brochure for registration information.

Ada County 4-H June Activities

There are so many events going on during the summer months with 4-H that hopefully we haven't left any out! Save this calendar of events so you don't miss out on anything. June 10-12: State Archery Contest, Caldwell Gun Club. This is also a qualifying event for the national contest! June 10-13: June Kids Camp, 3 days in Donnelly by the lake, camping with friends in cabins! June 13: Begin registering for the County Oral Presentations. Call 287-5900 or email dhobbs@uidaho.edu to schedule your appointment. Blue ribbon presentations will be qualified to compete at the district contest during the Western Idaho Fair. June 16-1: District II Horse Camp, Donnelly. Bring your horse to a great camp. Trail rides, workshops, this is an opportunity to spend time camping with your horse. June 17: Idaho Youth Pig Camp at the Expo Idaho. Learn more about the Idaho swine industry, showmanship, fair preparation and more. The cost is $15. Register by June 13 to guarantee a shirt! I

4-H Clubs Pet food Drive

4-H clubs are invited to collect food for the Idaho Humane Society. Bring your donations by July 1st to the Ada County Extension Office. The club that collects the most food will receive a tour of the Idaho Humane Society. We're asking everyone to help collect food. You can also call the Idaho Humane Society and find where they have the most need. Help your club win a tour! Check out the Pet Food Drive flyer for more information.

Western Idaho Fair 4-H Fair Entry Forms

Now that school's out and summer feels like it's here we're thinking about the fair! There are some changes to the FCS fair entry forms. Here's what you need to know: Turn all FCS (non-animal) fair entry forms and horse fair entry forms in to the Extension Office. Turn all animal forms (small and large animals) in to the Premium Office. Horse fair entry forms are due on Friday, July 22. All other forms are due on Monday, August 1. Interview Evaluations for everyone (except the horse project) are being scheduled a different way this year. Please see the instructions for how to schedule your appointments. Interviews will be held on August 15 and 16 at Expo Idaho.
