Taking Your Horse Project to Fair

It's that time of year and if you're taking the Horse Project to the Western Idaho Fair make sure you have all your forms filled out and turned in on time!

Here's what you need! To get started make sure you have the Western Idaho Fair fairbook! If not you can get one from the Ada County Extension Office or online here.

  • Fill out the fair entry form completely and be sure to follow your 4-H club leader's directions!
  • Fill out the Breed Award forms
  • Fill out the Hi Point Election form
  • If you are taking the Hunter Hack class you need to fill out the English Permission Form

You may also want to download the new Horse Rule Book. There are changes this year, so make sure you read the rule book and are aware of the changes! The Horse Rule Book and other forms that you will need are available here.

Interview evaluations will be August 11th at the Double Nickel Ranch. Your 4-H club leader will have the interview times.

It's highly recommended that you attend the Fair Orientation on Thursday, July 19, 6 pm at the Western Idaho Fairgrounds. Everyone is welcome, so come and enjoy the picnic and learn some valuable information for the 2012 Western Idaho Fair!
